Colours of Arley

Colours of Arley began with a dog bed. When photographer Louisa Tratalos rehomed a scruffy terrier called Patch, she couldn't find a striped fabric in the colours she wanted for his bed. So she asked her family's Cheshire fabric workshop to make one. Today the brand makes bespoke stripes for fabric and wallpaper. You choose any two of 180 colours and one of three stripe widths, skinny, midi or grand, and every metre is made to order in Cheshire, with no waste. It's a stripe that's entirely your own, and it's run from a studio on Hackney Road in east London.
