Why we love it

This Welsh blanket carries real weight both literally and historically, woven from pure new wool at a mill that's been running since the seventeenth century. The St David's Cross pattern draws from 1980s archive design inspired by Shaker weaving, giving it genuine character without feeling precious. Drape it across a bedroom chair or sofa where its reversible wool can be appreciated from both sides, and it'll become one of those pieces you reach for constantly.

Description

Warm, weighty pure new wool blanket woven in a small white-washed mill in a remote wooded valley on the Pembrokeshire coast by Melin Tregwynt. The pattern, St David’s Cross, is inspired by early eighteenth-century Shaker weaving, is from Melin Tregwynt’s archive and was designed in the 1980s. A mill has stood on the site since the seventeenth century. A family-run company from 1912 to 2022, it is now an Employee Ownership Trust. Finished with a simple hem, making it fully reversible. Weighty pure new wool. Traditional St David’s Cross pattern. Simple hem. Reversible. Hand wash. 100% pure new wool. Made in the United Kingdom.
