Why we love it
This ceramic wall light takes its form from the natural geometry of a cockle shell, cast as a sculptural piece that casts gentle light across the wall behind. Mounted in a bathroom above the sink or beside the mirror, it brings an organic, handmade quality to the space while the brass fitting remains hidden within the ceramic form.
Description
Sold individually, left and right available. A cockle builds its shell layer by layer over several years, using only the resources within itself and minerals in the water surrounding it. It does so without any specific intention or model, and yet the result is a thing of exquisite beauty and great strength. The Giant Cockle Shell Wall Light is born from our wonder at the process and form of these sculptural shells. Each Giant Cockle is cast in plaster and fitted over a discreet brass light fitting, to illuminate the wall behind. Please allow up to 6-8 weeks for delivery, as these pieces are made to order.
